Peha believes FCC is heading in wrong direction

Jon Peha disputes FCC Chairman Ajit Pai’s claim that Obama-era regulations stifled broadband infrastructure development to rural areas. Says Peha to KCUR, “What these companies [internet providers] have said, not to the FCC but to their shareholders—in legally-binding language—they have said net neutrality regulations did not impede their investment.” Many stakeholders, including Peha, former chief technologist at the FCC, are concerned that the current FCC stance of deregulation could hurt broadband access for already severely underserved rural communities. Read the article.
