Rutenbar’s startup raises $8 million in funding

Voci Technologies, a startup co-founded by ECE alum Rob Rutenbar, received $8 million during its Series B round of funding. A spinoff of Rutenbar’s In Silico Vox project, Voci is a leading provider of speech-to-text transcription and voice analytics products to businesses. The company boasts, according to Rutenbar, “the fastest, highest-capacity commercial speech engine on the planet.” Based in Pittsburgh’s Squirrel Hill neighborhood, Voci plans to use the capital from this most recent round of funding to accelerate its sales and marketing efforts.
