ECE doctoral student Shupeng Sun has won the 2014 Best Poster Award at the ACM SIGDA PhD Forum at the Design Automation Conference (“DAC”). The PhD Forum is an ACM SIGDA event for all PhD students to present their dissertation research. The award was established this year, and the winner was selected by following a three-level screening process. Shupeng Sun is advised by Associate Professor Xin Li.
Sun's research work, titled "Fast Statistical Analysis of Rare Failure Events in SRAM Circuits," develops an efficient methodology to estimate the extremely small rate for static random-access memory (SRAM). His research was in collaboration with Cadence Design Systems and has been adopted by the Virtuoso ADE product for a recent software release at Cadence.
Shupeng Sun accepted the award, including a certificate and a check for $300, at DAC in San Francisco.
